Glossary Control
The two levels of access control provided to users over Glossary are
- Glossary fine-grain access control
- Global (when the check-box for Glossary fine-grain access control is disabled)
Fine Grain Disabled (Global Access)
When fine grain checkbox is disabled, it means the users of a particular group are given global access to “all” the categories of Glossary.
On all categories, there are further 3 levels of access. i.e. View, Edit, No Access. An admin can set the access for a group from edit/add group dialog.
- View
On Glossary Browse and Term pages, all the terms of all the categories will be visible to the users of that particular group. It means that the users can view the terms and the term details but cannot edit or delete them.
- Edit
On Glossary Browse and Term pages, all the terms of all the categories will be editable to the users of that particular group. It means that the users will be able to edit and delete the terms as well.
- No Access
For no access, User will be able to see the terms listing on the Browse and Terms page but he will not be able to navigate to the terms detail page.
Fine-Grain Enabled
When fine grain checkbox is enabled, it means the users of a particular group are given privileges to “selective or all” categories of Glossary.
On categories, there are further2 levels of access. i.e. View and Edit. An admin can set the access for a group from edit/add group dialog.
- View
For a single or multiple categories, if view right is given to a group then it means all the users of that group can view the terms of those particular categories only. A user will not be able to edit them.
- Edit
For a single or multiple categories, if Edit right is given to a group then it means all the users of that group can add and edit/delete the terms of those particular categories.
